The situation tragically escalated on 28 May 2025, when an armed incursion led to one casualty from the Cambodian side. The tension, however, extends beyond territory disputes, and is deeply rooted in history, national identity, sovereignty, political significance. In some cases, it also tests how nations respond under pressure. Cambodia, rather than escalating the tensions or resorting to arms, has chosen to pursue peaceful path.
